MATH
Gus the Plus is a new member of our class. He helps us join 2 parts of a group to make a whole group! What a nice fellow. He is really helping us learn addition.

Here is a fun addition video enjoy!

ELA
The sight words we are focusing on are out, would, him and did.  During skills we are continuing sound work!! We will practice rhyming through word families. The word family for this week is -og. (Practice asking your child what words rhyme with "dog." Please make sure all their responses are real words.) We will continue practicing segmenting words (or as we all like to say in class "chopping up words"), producing ending sounds for words, writing lowercase letters and substituting sounds for words at the beginning (ex big~ change the /b/ to a /w/ and the new word is wig.)

Our Reading lessons will be about comparing and contrasting two similar stories. The stories we are reading are Three Little Pigs (the version where the pigs are eaten by the wolf and the wolf dies at the end of the story.) and The Three Ninja Pigs.
I haven't found video's on Youtube that match our stories yet... but I'm going to keep checking. :)

SCIENCE
Be on the look out for the moon this week. We are observing the way the moon looks in the sky. On Wednesday the students will come home with a science moon observation for the week. Have fun checking out the shapes of the moon. Hopefully the cloudy skies won't stop us!

  1. Wish the moon assignment would have happened before the time change when it was darker earlier at night.
